Untitled
Untitled is a piece that represents the artist’s convictions about the symbiotic relationship between the physical and the ethereal in every vital force. She used naked clay to represent the physical world and colored glass to reflect the metaphysical. The organic materials were carefully selected and collected from different parts of the globe. Our earth is very generous and diverse, pink sand from south America, black sand from the island of Hawaii, white sand from the beaches of Florida, clay from Texas soil, recycled bottles, marbles from China, among others, all combined to achieve unique texture and colors. The forms are individually unique and collectively share a familiar resemblance, that of combining the roughness of the physical elements and the glimmer revelation of the incorporeal beauty.
